Feeling drained… or overwhelmed… like life is getting the better of you?
Well you’re not alone.
According to Gallup, 8 in 10 Americans now report feeling stressed in their daily lives.
So if you get home from work feeling exhausted, with anxious thoughts running through your read at a thousand miles an hour – it means one thing…
You’re officially stressed out.
But you’re in luck. It doesn't have to be this way. Many people don’t realize that stress can be managed.
Follow these 5 simple tips and we guarantee you’ll feel like your old self again.
1 – You Are What You Eat
You’ve heard this 1,000 times for a good reason...
Your body converts the food you eat into energy. That’s our fuel. If you eat bad food, you’ll have bad energy – simple as that.
Think of it like the gas you put in your car. Regular gasoline works, but premium feels sooo much better. Right?
We're all human, so try to follow the 80 / 20 rule.
That means 80% of what you eat each day should be pure food: fruit, vegetables, lean meats, fish, nuts, seeds, pulses and legumes.
The other 20% can be a bit naughtier ;-)
2 – Work out. Hard.
Our bodies are made to move!
And it's when we forget to incorporate movement into our lives… that things end badly.
When you work out, you're essentially asking your body to provide you with energy. So if you never exercise, don't expect to have great energy levels.
Aim to work out for at least 30-40 minutes, 3 times a week – doing something really hard that will work up a good sweat and get your heart pumping!
You've probably heard of endorphins. These are the "feel good" chemicals that are released during vigorous exercise - and they are you body's natural way of fighting stress!
3 – Early To Bed, Early To Rise
I don’t want to sound like your grandma here.
(OK, maybe I do... just a little bit).
But once again, the oldest wisdom on Earth is often the best.
To feel like you’re really on top of the day, get a head-start on it!
Imagine how much easier life would be if you had two extra hours every day. You'd be able to organize your day, check your emails and sneak in a quick workout - all before breakfast.
So try going to bed 2 hours earlier and getting up 1-2 hours earlier.
You see, our bodies are designed to follow a circadian rhythm – which means we are made to sleep when it gets dark and rise when it gets light.
When you get closer to this ancestral way of living, you’ll not only feel more productive but have better natural energy levels.
4 – Be Mindful for a Minute
We all get those moments when it feels like our heads are stuck in a traffic jam. Overwhelmed with intrusive thoughts, beeping their horns from all sides.
It's frustrating, overwhelming and we often ask ourselves - can we cope?
Well, this is the exact time you need to take a minute to be mindful.
But there’s no need to break out into a lotus pose and chant for an hour! Better to have just one mindful breath and enjoy it, rather than ever suffer through meditation.
A simple 60 seconds of breathing and awareness will work wonders.
Sit down, close your eyes and "check in". That means taking a few moments to acknowledge how each part of your body feels. And then how you feel. Recognize these physical feelings and internal emotions - then put them aside.
Take ten deep, slow breaths -1 to 10 - focusing on how each breath feels completely unique, as it courses through your body.
Your mind will wander - but when it does, just allow it to return to your breathing.
As open your eyes, things will look up and you’ll feel much calmer.
Aim to do this once or twice a day, when times are testing you!
5 – Take an Adaptogen Complex
One of the amazing things about our modern world, is we now have access to a complete library of plants and supplements spanning across all history and cultures.
The most well-studied class of healing plants are adaptogens, with over 152 scientific studies published.
Adaptogens are natural roots that help our bodies to adapt to stress, resist fatigue and improve general well-being – with zero negative side effects.
Examples include ginseng, ashwaganda and rhodiola rosea.
These natural tonics are actually good for our bodies and help them to operate more efficiently by balancing part of our nervous systems known as the "HPA axis".
If you’ve never taken a high-quality adaptogen complex before, you don’t know what you’re missing out on!
You’ll feel less stressed, less anxious and experience clean natural energy that lasts all day.
When combined with the other tips, the results can be life-changing.
We highly recommend Claridream PEACE, the only adaptogen complex on the market that has a full 340mg clinical dose of Rhodiola Rosea in a 5% Rosavins extract
